Many have asked...
So I will answer. Thank you all for your
kind words in your letters and guest book entries. I wanted to answer
some of your questions here. If you have any questions you can email
me, and hopefully I'll have some answers for you.
When is your birthday?
October 26th. I'm still working out every
day up to four hours on weights, so my body thinks it's in its 30's.
Do you have any wives, children?
I have a son, who is a wonderful young
man, and works out with me daily. My stepson is older, and looks to
me as a father. I prefer not to divulge my love life... All of the women
in my life have all been strong, lovely people who have helped make
me the man I am.
Why don't you have pictures from when
you were a wrestler on this site?
When I was younger, I was in a car accident.
At the time, the doctors told my father that I was likely not going
to be able to walk again, nevermind wrestle. Well, of course, my father
was so worried about my reactions, that he burned all of the pictures
he had of me wrestling, so I wouldn't be reminded of what I lost. It
was a noble gesture, but Dad didn't count on my determination. I worked
hard to get back in shape. I even used my body cast as a weight machine!
My cousin would sneak vitamins to me, in boxes of chocolates! I'd give
the nurses the candy, and my health returned faster than the doctors
could have imagined.
Who was/is your favorite person to work
with?
Oh, I've worked with some of the best!
Peter Falk is one of them, all of the folks on the Car 54 show were
wonderful. The list would be as long as my credits, or even longer.
I'll have some stories in Hank's Tales pages. Every time I think of
one person, another fifty pop up!
What are your hobbies?
I work out with weights quite a bit. I'm
also a martial arts expert, and have studied with some of the best in
the world including Benny the Jet. I'm also very health conscious, and
practice a regimen of vitamins and supplements. One thing I do like
to do is to visit with friends and fans who come to the autograph shows.
Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have a little pug dog, and a kitty,
and both were rescued animals. I recommend rescued pets. If you are
going to get a pet ADOPT!
What are some things you know about
Car 54 that some people may not?
Okay, let's see. Charlotte Rae's ex-husband
is the one who wrote the original theme song. Fred Gwynne was much more
than an wonderful actor, he was also an accomplished artist. He published
cartoons in children's books. Let's see those show up on Trivial Pursuit!
What is the one thing in the world that
people wouldn't know about you?
Well most people are unaware that I don't
drive. Never have. Not likely to start today. I also have a computer,
but I rarely surf the net. In fact, my webmistress hard copies all of
the files for the website for me to approve. This is also how I get
my email and read the guest books! But I'm not a complete luddite. I
have a cell phone, and an electric fridge.
What have you been doing since ....
insert film/tv show name here... ended?
I have a stand-up act that I've performed
all over the country. I also sing, and dance a bit. Occasionally I am
back on the tv and movie screen. I really enjoyed doing voice over work
and I would like to pursue that part of the industry some more. If you
check out the site, you can see when I'll be in the area doing autograph
shows, or events.
What is your best advice
for actors?
Listen to your gut.
